Judi Dench is almost 90 and nearly blind but she carries on regardless. She’s a treasure.

I couldn't believe when I googled it, good for her

Judy Dench is not only a Dame but a Lady. ❤️ International treasure.

100% You are correct!

45 minutes isn't long enough for a couch like this lol
Месяц назадKiloOneThree
@Ibire Nice to know that Eugene and Michael had a good conversation. From the edited version it seemed like they had more to talk about but just weren’t given the chance. And Michael B again seemed like he wasn’t that involved but clearly he was. BBC really should show some extended versions.
Месяц назадHollyBlueAgitated +1
@KiloOneThree there used to be a compilation of the old red chair segments here on YT - Liza Minelli's reaction to the chair is one of my favorites, nearly choking on her drink because of how unexpected it was
Месяц назадHollyBlueAgitated
@Ibire I mean, if I had to watch Pink perform three times, I'd sit through it without a problem lol, she's brilliant - did they do any Red Chair stuff or were they really just out of time? I've always been curious as to how that works, like if they record the Red Chair segments but end up not using them in case the show runs too long in the edit
Месяц назадIbire +3
Was in the audience for this. They left in a good chunk but the free flowing chat was so good to be a part of. Eugene and Michael chatted so much more and Michael b Jordan also spoke more. We had to see pink perform 3 times due to her missing lyrics once and the choreography messing up a little also
Месяц назадKiloOneThree +3
I wish the BBC would allow for extended versions. Some episodes deserve a little more. Even if that is just the Red Chair - all the guests would love that, especially those first-timers!

Dame Judi Dench is the epitome of strength and courage. Despite life's challenges, she never gives up and is truly an inspiration. Initially, I wasn't certain how well she would take on the task of being M in the James Bond franchise yet she proved to be the most formidable and favorite of mine to portray the character.

It was amazing that Kirk Douglass was 103 at his death and Michael was 75 at the time of his fathers death.

What makes Graham Norton so good, is that knows the audience have come to see and listen to his guests, not him. He has a few moments, such as his red chair, but he's just a conduit to wider entertainment. I also think American guests don't know what's hit them when it's their first time other show, but when they come back for a 2nd or 3rd time they look liberated from the strictures of US TV.

Similar to Conan O'Brien
Месяц назадHollyBlueAgitated +2
I totally agree with this - the first time a non-UK guest comes on they're wearing a suit or a dress or what have you, but come appearance number three or four, they're in a sweater, jeans, sneakers, casual stuff (even before the lockdown era) Graham has an effect on his guests like no other, and we love him for it

This show just surpasses my expectations every time I think it couldn't! What a couch!

Always admired Judi Dench growing up. Not just a Dame, but a true Icon.

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched ‘December the 9th’ 😂😂😂

This is probably the most stacked couch I've ever seen. This show is becoming more and more prestigious, there's nothing like this on American TV.

RIP Kirk Douglas (December 9, 1916 – February 5, 2020), aged 103 You will always be remembered as a legend.

"And we also shared the same birthday." "Oh, september 25th?" "....December 9th" 🤣🤣

I got to listen to Kirk Douglas do a talk on speech therapy at the University if Long Beach. It was the most enjoyable talk I ever experienced. Kirk Douglas was really charismatic and charming. Really magnetic personality.
Месяц назадPuig
@paul oneill he had to be in his 80s. A few years after his first stroke.
Месяц назадpaul oneill
How old was he at the time.
Месяц назадBuenomars +12
She was referring to Kirk's birthday, not Michael's! Stay on topic, Michael! 🤣 Fun fact: Michael Douglas and his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones share the same birthday of September 25th. Other notable celebs include Will Smith, Donald Glover, Christopher Reeve, Mark Hamill and Heather Locklear.

I looked it up. Kirk was indeed born on December 9th (and so was Judy). Strange that Michael got his father's birthday wrong LOL. Edit: Nevermind. Michael thought Judy was talking about his birthday.
Месяц назадGuido Anselmi +1
@Mascot No, I watched the clip a few times. And I didn't understand what Michael said at first because it was whispered and not really picked up on the mic.
Месяц назадMascot
I'm curious, did you pause the video to go look it up, before watching the remaining 15 or so seconds where it's clarified?

I knew Michael's half-brother (same father different mother, don't want to say his name). We were in the kitchen's of his dad's house in the morning (Kirk) when his dad came shuffling in in bathrobe and slippers. An argument ensued between them. Later I was driving his dad's BMW down Sunset following my friend. I did my absolutely horrible Kirk Douglas imitation, alone driving Kirk Douglas's car. It was an odd day.

Umm anyone else wanna tell them some stuff about Kirk????
Месяц назадElwaves
Why would anyone bring that up? While the anecdote was partly about Kirk, he isn't a guest and the show isn't about him. You also don't know if it's true and repeating allegegations does nothing, especially as neither party is alive now.
Месяц назадTAO TOLOGY +6

Y'all might wanna look into Kirk Douglas more... and what he did... to 16-year-old Natalie Wood...
Месяц назадElwaves +1
@hadoken95 There's that too, I'd forgotten that Wood's death was also a mystery. To me it's not worth getting into, there's zerp proof one way or the other and while the anecdote featured Douglas, it wasn't about him and neither was the show. Even the circumstances of how this allegation came about are dubious at best. As you say, one more thing they'll never be an answer to.
Месяц назадhadoken95 +1
@Elwaves After both their deaths, even. So I don't really know that it's worth getting into at all. Some things, like Wood's death, are just going to forever be mysteries.
Месяц назадElwaves +1
Alleged to have done.
